FAQ

As a client, how can I be sure that what I say to you will be kept confidential?

The attorney-client privilege concerns confidential communications between lawyer and client, which cannot be disclosed to anyone without the consent of the client. This same privilege extends to all private investigators retained by or working under an attorney.

If the attorney/investigator relationship is properly established, the investigator's involvement in a case and participation is privileged --- all communications will be protected from disclosure.

All information whether or not written, regarding this matter, is confidential and privileged, at no time during or after this investigation will we disclose said information, except to the extent the same shall have been disclosed under compulsion of law.

All papers and records of every kind, including all memoranda, notes, lists, plans, reports, data (written or recorded) and documents, whether originals or copies, including, video or photographs, whether prepared by myself or my staff or by others working for us and relating to this investigation, shall be promptly returned to you.

What fees do you charge?

The fees for our services are based on the time involved and the then current hourly rates for each of my staff performing any work. Statements for services and disbursements will be billed at 100% of posted rates, as they exist from time to time.  Discounts are available to clients based on total hours worked and prior client payment history.

How do you bill for expenses?

We ask for a retainer and bill against the sum advanced. You will be responsible for, and will be billed for; expenses incurred by us including photocopying and messenger services, facsimile charges and out-of-pocket disbursements, such as transcript fees, long-distance telephone calls and travel expenses such as gas and tolls.

In no event shall you be liable for time charges billed in excess of the retainer without prior consent in writing, but said sum is exclusive of reasonable business expenses.

How do you keep track of costs and time spent performing an investigation?

Statements for services and disbursements will be rendered monthly, and are payable on receipt. The client or the client’s attorney will be routinely apprised of expenditures and work performed.

Do you itemize these costs for the customer?

Yes, and provide support on request.  Most expenses are paid by check or credit card.

What is the length of your contract with me?

My services to you are “at will.”   You may terminate my involvement and our agreement at anytime.  If there is a positive balance, the balance remaining, shall be refunded to you.
