Chief Lou Anemone is a 35 year veteran of the New York Police Department. For the last five years of his tenure, he was the Chief of the Department, the highest ranking officer the N.Y.P.D.
Further, Chief Anemone is noted as one of the co-developers of the Compstat Unit which gives commanders a snapshot view of preliminary crime statistics.
In 1996, Compstat received national recognition as a recipient of the Ford Foundation and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government award for Innovations in American Government. During his tenure with the N.Y.P.D., homicides were reduced 60%, violent crime dropped 50%, and police use of deadly force fell 60%. In 1996, Chief Anemone made sure the Cold Case Squad was successfully put into place with some of the best detectives from the newly merged police departments.
Chief Anemone runs our training & consulting group which targets law enforcement agencies looking to mirror New York City's revolutionary Compstat sucess. Lou frequently lectures around the Country about Compstat, domestic and transportation security.
Chief Anemone served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Nyack Hospital and was a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way.
In addition, Chief Anemone served as the Deputy Director of the New York State Office of Public Security in the immediate aftermath of the attacks of September 11th 2001, and most recently as the inaugural Deputy Executive Director/Security of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of New York where he was credited with improving subways and railroads security efforts.
